Matthew Eaton is a contemporary sculptor, printmaker and art educator. He was an Assistant Professor at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico from 2015-2022, where he taught sculpture. After leaving IAIA in 2022, Matthew took on the role of Studio Manager and Collaborative Assistant to June Quick-to-See Smith where he and his team work with the artist to bring the her vision to life creating sculptures and installations. Matthew received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from New Mexico Highlands University, a Professional Printers’ Certificate from the Tamarind Institute, a Master of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Sculpture from Georgia State University and a Master of Arts in Art Education from the University of New Mexico. His sculptural work is rooted in the contemporary cast iron art movement and has been exhibited at Grounds for Sculpture, The National Ornamental Metals Museum, The Birmingham Museum of Art , The Amarillo Museum of Art, and galleries around the United States, Scotland and Germany.
